On today's 'Global Exchange' Podcast, we continue our series on the state of Canadian trade in a world of growing populism and protectionism. Today's episode, recorded during our February 13th State of Trade conference in Ottawa, features a panel of trade experts discussing the utility of Canada's progressive trade agenda.

Participant Biographies

  • Colin Robertson (host): A former Canadian diplomat, Colin Robertson is Vice President of the Canadian Global Affairs Institute.
  • Jeffrey Simpson (moderator): a Senior Fellow at the University of Ottawa's Graduate School of Public Affairs, and the Globe and Mail's former National Affairs columnist.
  • Eugene Beaulieu: Dr. Beaulieu is a Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Calgary and is Program Director, International Economics at The School of Public Policy.
  • Angelo DiCaro: National Research Representative of Unifor.
  • Angella MacEwan: Senior Economist at the Canadian Labour Congress.
  • Chris Smillie: Chris Smillie, TACTIX Principal, is an experienced government relations and public affairs practitioner with a decade of experience on Parliament Hill in Ottawa negotiating the complex legislative and communications environment for a variety of interests.
