Canada's Foreign Policy - A Review: Episode Two - Cultural Considerations and the Middle East

On today's 'Global Exchange' Podcast, we have two foreign policy experts in conversation with Colin Robertson to discuss their contributions to our upcoming 'Foreign Policy Review' series. First, Colin speaks with Emile Martel, a former Canadian diplomat and writer, about the cultural component of a country's foreign policy. Next, Colin speaks with Thomas Juneau, an assistant professor at the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Ottawa, about the Middle East, and Canada's role in the tumultuous region.

Participant Biographies:

  • Colin Robertson (host): A former Canadian diplomat, Colin Robertson is Vice President of the Canadian Global Affairs Institute and a Senior Advisor to Dentons LLP.
  • Emile Martel: a Canadian diplomat and writer, who won the Governor General's Award for French-language poetry in 1995.
  • Thomas Juneau: Thomas Juneau is an assistant professor at the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Ottawa.
